Metal Straps
In order to secure heavy unit loads for shipment, steel strapping is still a simple and low cost solution, easy to apply and to automate.

Each application is different and needs an adapted solution.

In order to fulfill their obligations as a system sales supplier, Cyklop International offers a complete range of strapping equipment and strapping material:

  • Strapping hand tools, manual or semi-automatic, when limited packaging needs do not justify automation.

  • Automatic strapping machines, when the number of packages justify the investment.

  • All types and dimensions of steel straps, produced under ISO 9000.

  • Dispensers, seals and other accessories.
Steel strapping has strength but almost no elasticity nor elastic recovery. It is not optimally adapted to loads having a potential loss of perimeter; the strap tension would reduce or even disappear, the strapping would lose it's holding power.

Plastic Straps
Nowadays, plastic strapping is a well recognised solution for simple, cost effective and easy to automate
  • bundling/grouping of individual products.

    Example: Bundling of newspapers or magazines.

  • closing and reinforcing of packages

    Example: Closing of carton boxes.

  • securing of unit loads for handling, storage and transport.

    Example: Palletising

For bundling, closing and reinforcing packages, strapping with polypropylene (PP) strap is the usual solution.
Cyklop International produces thousands of tons of PP strap, from 5 mm width up to 16 mm width. Depending on the application needs, the Cyklop programmed includes all types of equipment from simple hand tools to the most automated strapping machines.

For securing unit loads, strapping with polyester (PET) straps is often preferred as it has a holding power which may be higher than steel strapping because of it's high elasticity and elastic recovery.

Fully Automatic Plastic Strapping Machines
For those customers needing fully automated packing lines with a high output and without an operator, Cyklop International offers a comprehensive range of automatic strapping machines.

The Cyklop systems are beneficial in two directions:

  • The packaging line: Speed up to 40 packages per minute, efficient and reliable.
  • The package: Strapping always precisely positioned and tensioned, automatically adjustable to package height.

  • The Ampag 30 with various arch sizes and output speeds for centered or parallel strapping.
  • The Ampag 30K with integrated turntable for automatic cross-strapping.
  • The Inline is a special machine for the high speed automatic strapping of bundles behind the modern folder-gluers in the corrugated industry.
  • Special machines such as the CI 113 can use either PP or PET straps.
